Sustainability Policy

Effective management of safety, health, environment, quality, energy, carbon reduction and responsible supplier sourcing is of key importance to the sustained success of Marvellous Security Services Limited (MSSL). We have a single Sustainability Policy which is regularly reviewed and communicated to management, colleagues, contractors, key stakeholders, and the supply chain of MSSL to inform and promote the wider adoption of responsible practices. MSSL comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Cooperation and acceptance in the effective implementation of the policy is a condition of employment, partnership, and supply.

Concern for the environment lies at the core of our company’s ethos.

We recognise our role in promoting a broader sustainability agenda in the security sector and empowering our customers to incorporate sustainable approaches into their processes.

Our journey to Net Zero

At a macro level MSSL accept the challenge to be Net Zero carbon neutral by 2050 and are confident they will halve their carbon footprint by 2030. The action plan is at its early stage so actual measurements using the proposed Government formula to calculate those numbers has not yet been adopted.

The focus is on those areas we have already identified and in the process of implementing which are:

  • Using video conferencing in lieu of physical meetings.
  • Using methods to make company travel journeys as efficient as possible.
  • Introducing hybrid / electric vehicles into the company fleet.
  • Recycling 95% of our Head Office waste.
  • Incorporating biodegradable plastics across our supply chain to minimise waste sent to landfill.
  • Upgrading to energy efficient equipment and lighting across our office buildings to reduce electricity consumption by 14%.

Real living wage

We are proud supporters of the Living Wage Foundation. As experts in understanding the challenges faced by those with low to middle incomes, we recognize the significant impact that the living wage can have on people’s lives. We are delighted that the Foundation is actively promoting best practices and providing guidance and support to employers who choose to implement a living wage. We hope that this initiative will lead to increased adoption across various industries. We are proud supporters of the Living Wage Foundation. As experts on the challenges faced by those in work and on low to middle incomes, we’re aware of the difference the living wage can make to people’s lives. We’re delighted that the Foundation will spread best practice and provide advice and support to those employers who do choose to implement a living wage, and we hope it take up spreads as a result.
